ENKHUIZEN - EcoScan, the waste separation app, was consulted almost a hundred thousand times in 2021. The most frequently asked question in the app was about the plastic bag lined with aluminium foil. Because of the thin layer of foil on the inside of the bag, many people are unsure where it belongs. The EcoScan app makes it easy for people to contribute to a better environment. Scan the barcode of a package with the app or take a photo, and EcoScan knows which bin the waste goes in. If the product is still too good to throw away, the app recommends a charity shop, to make the economy more circular.
