Anyone who separates their waste sometimes wonders which bin something goes in. To answer that question, you can download the Dutch app EcoScan. Back in 2018 we already wrote about EcoScan as an app that scans your waste. This month, though, there is reason to put the app in the spotlight again: a handy update has been released.
EcoScan now asks you to share your location. It uses that to determine whether your municipality separates waste after collection, so you get the best advice for your municipality. Not every municipality is known in the app yet. The interaction in the app has also improved, and it supports your iPhone's dark mode. EcoScan is free with ads, but you can pay to remove them.
